Electrifying!

Long wanting to switch to renewables, we looked longingly at producers like Tesla to rescue us, because despite a huge potential market for tea heaters and dryers, irrigation pumps, tractors and trucks and motorcycles few companies in India seem to want to invest and produce them. Imagine our delight when we found Hero  had introduced the new Hero Lectro electric bike. Our staff use motorcycles to criss-cross the estate all day long. Since Mr. Modi's promised Acchey Din making petrol impossibly expensive for all but those who live in Antilla-like homes, it is with great relief that we bought two to start with. Apart from the energy savings, the bikes are delightful to ride. Swift and silent you can move in the greatest comfort. Rajib, our Hathi Sathi Field Assistant took his for a 45 km spin in the Darjeeling Hills yesterday. We will be buying half a dozen more and encourage others to make the switch ASAP.
