Creating Safe Passage for Elephants in other tea estates

On August 14, 2019 Wildlife Trust of India and SPOAR organised a well-attended meeting of tea garden managers in the Dooars. 

The discussion focussed around the problems faced by tea estates when confronted by herds of wild elephants. Human-Elephant Conflict HEC is an issue that has grown in alarming proportions around the country as forests are getting more fragmented and elephant habitat shrinks. Apart from deaths, elephants also damage  buildings, tea bushes and shade trees.

How do we deal with this problem?
